Keeping the flow going at Festival Mall
Site:
Festival Mall, Kempton Park
Festival Mall, located in close proximity to OR Tambo Airport with easy access from the R21 and various other highways offers convenient shopping, quality merchandise and non-stop entertainment 7 days a week. The entertainment section is unique, offering the only ice rink in the east.
Problem:
When the mall experienced problems on the main UPVC supply line to fire suppression system, they did not hesitate to act immediately.
Nu Flow were called to inspect the section of pipe.
A CCTV camera inspection revealed that a joint had shifting causing a water leak damaging sections of the above building.
Solution:
The problematic section of pipe was blanked off and opened on both ends, allowing Nu Flow to start the job. Nu Flow then relined the pipe using a structural liner to cover the shifted joint.
An epoxy saturated liner was pulled into the pipe. Within the liner is a rubber bladder which is inflated when the liner is in the correct position and is left inflated until the epoxy has cured and hardened. The bladder is then removed leaving behind a “nu pipe” within the host pipe.
