Nu Flow re-lines at Hyde Park Flats in Port Elizabeth
Location:
Hyde Park Flats, Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape
Situation:
Hyde Park flats, which overlooks the ST George’s Park Cricket Ground where five of the 2003 Cricket World Cup matches were played, had a leaking rectangular cast iron pipe which ran directly under the Penthouse.
Some plumbers were called in to solve the problem. They put a 50mm PVC pipe into the cast iron pipe. The pipe was too small and continually blocked causing the balcony of the Penthouse to flood.
The building owners did not want to chop open the penthouse, replace the pipe and then have to patch up the damage.
The building owners turned to Nu Flow for a solution.
Solution:
Nu Flow first removed the 50mm PVC pipe and then cleaned the cast iron pipe using Nu Flow’s unique cleaning tools. Once the pipe was clean Nu Flow used a pullin- place structural liner to re-line the pipe working from existing access points and thereby caused absolutely NO damage to the structural integrity of the Penthouse.
All work was done working from existing access points thereby causing no damage to the building. Nu Flow were able to do the job in
The end result is a new pipe with-in the original pipe.
No Mess, no chopping open, damage to structures!
