Waterfall Country Village

Site:
Waterfall Country Estate

Situation:

A beautifully built and furnished home in Waterfall Country Estate was experiencing continual blockages on a 110mm PVC sewer line. The line had been unblocked numerous times, but shortly after would block up again. A CCTV camera inspection revealed that a section of the pipe had a hole through it on a bend.

It seems that plumbers trying to use rodding to unblock the pipe made a hole through one of the 90 degree elbows. The sewerage flowing into the ground had created a cavity. The greatest problem with the sewer line is that it runs under the swimming pool thereby making a pipe replacement a very costly exercise.
The homeowner turned to Nu Flow for a non-invasive solution.

Solution:
This project turned out to be quite challenging. Upon arrival on site, Nu Flow tried to jet the line to remove the soil inside the pipe. But because the hole is at the to section of the pipe, it kept filling with sand and making the cavity worse. A different approach was needed.

Nu Flow then used an Air-Spade and Air-Vac to clean the line. The Air Spade blasts compressed air into one end of the pipe while the Air-Vac is used to suck out the soil been displaced. Once the line was clean, Nu Flow relined the pipe with Nu Flow’s structural lining technology.

An epoxy saturated liner was pulled into the pipe. Within the liner is a rubber bladder, which is inflated when the liner is in position. The bladder is left inflated until the epoxy has cured. Once the epoxy has cured, the bladder is removed leaving behind a ‘nu pipe’ within the host pipe. The relining was done working from existing access points thereby causing absolutely no damage or disruption to the home or swimming pool.

No damage to structures, no mess, no disturbance!
The end result is a new pipe with in the original pipe.
